Bad Suns frontman and guitarist Christo Bowman is a standout showman. With three studio albums under his belt, including the sensational debut Language & Perspective and Mystic Truth, Bowman and company are shaking up the indie genre. Born and raised in Southern California, Bowman formed Bad Suns alongside long term friend Gavin Bennet in Woodland Hills. Before the band’s EP Transpose was released through Vagrant Records, Bowman had been performing all over the state with the emerging band. Now fronting one of the most dynamic and electric bands around, Bowman has a long and exciting career ahead of him.
An eclectic mix of 1970s and 1980s post-punk riffs, tones and melody has become a staple of Bowman’s musicality. With clear inspiration from the likes of The Cure, The Clash and Mick Jones, Bowman is creating something fresh while honouring his roots. From the hypnotic “Baby Blue Shades” to the dreamy “Heaven Is A Place In My Head” and the rare indie gem “We Move Like the Ocean,” Bowman continues to push the boundaries and subvert genre expectations. Unafraid to embrace and discuss topical issues through his work, Out magazine praised the music video for the single “Salt” for its honest depiction of a transgender woman’s struggles with identity. With a range of new projects in the works and the highly anticipated untitled album on its way, Bowman is about to set the world ablaze.
