The fabulously entertaining Christy Carlson Romano is an award-winning actress, singer and social influencer, best known for voicing the title character in the animated comedy-adventure series, Kim Possible, and for playing Ren Stevens in the Disney sitcom, Even Stevens, for which she has won two Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series – Leading Young Actress. She is very open and honest about her struggles with depression, self-harm and alcohol abuse in her late teens and early twenties and to why she eventually left Hollywood.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Romano began her acting career at just six-years-old when she was cast in several national tours of Broadway shows, including Annie, and The Sound of Music opposite Marie Osmond. She made her TV debut in 1996 when she was 12 in The Many Trials of Tammy B, and in the same year she made her feature film debut in Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You. Since then she has gone to star in and voice for countless film and TV productions, including Hal Hartley’s Henry Fool, The Girl in the Photographs, Family Guy, Lilo & Stitch, and Big Hero 6: The Series. Her Broadway debut came in 1998 in Parade, and she has also starred in Beauty and the Beast. Away from acting, Romano recorded songs as part of soundtracks for Kim Possible and other Disney projects, and in 2004, Walt Disney Records released her debut album, Greatest Disney TV & Film Hits. She began narrating audiobooks, and penned her acclaimed debut novel, Grace’s Turn, in 2006. She started her own YouTube show in 2019 called Christy’s Kitchen Throwback, in which she would cook recipes with former child actors and Disney stars as guest hosts. She also hosted the cooking show Bucket List Bistro.
Romano regularly connects with her legions of followers and fans through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, posting pictures and videos of her performing life. She is available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform. She also has a dedicated YouTube channel, Christy Carlson Romano, and an official website, goteampossible.com.
