Ames Mcnamara

Ames McNamara, born on September 27, 2007, in Hoboken, New Jersey, began his acting career at a young age. He started performing in local musical theater productions at age five and transitioned to professional acting by the age of eight. His early career included a small role as a Street Urchin in the television series “At Home with Amy Sedaris” in 2017. This initial work laid the groundwork for his more prominent roles in network television.

McNamara’s career progressed significantly with his casting in the revival of the popular sitcom “Roseanne” in 2018. He portrayed Mark Conner-Healy, a character who gained attention for being gender non-conforming, sparking conversations about gender identity on a national platform. Following the cancellation of “Roseanne,” he reprised his role in the spin-off series, “The Conners,” which premiered in 2018 and has continued for multiple seasons, with his character evolving through various storylines. His work on “The Conners” has included 112 episodes, demonstrating a sustained commitment to his role. Beyond his television work, McNamara also appeared as additional crew in the 2019 film, “The Dead Don’t Die.” His contributions to these productions mark significant milestones in his acting career.

Away from acting, McNamara has expressed interest in directing short movies and pursuing environmental justice. He is also a fan of Premier League soccer and Formula 1 racing, enjoys hiking, reading fantasy novels, and playing tennis and soccer.
