Ciara Layne Duggan’s career in yachting began from an early age, influenced by extensive family travel on a 45-foot sailing catamaran. This foundational experience provided her with an intrinsic understanding of life at sea. She gained her first professional experience in the yachting industry at 17, working as the sole stewardess and crew cook on a 27-meter sailboat in Spain. This initial role established her capabilities in various aspects of yacht operations, from hospitality to culinary duties on smaller vessels.

She has worked in diverse roles, including sole stew, chef, and first mate, often running smaller yachts alongside her partner, Paget. Her notable public recognition came with her participation in the television series “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” (2020), where she appeared as a deckhand for 18 episodes. This role marked a shift from her previous positions, requiring adaptation to a deck-focused environment while living on the Parsifal III.
