Best known as an American singer, Cindy Herron-Braggs is also a songwriter, model and actress. Herron-Braggs was born in San Francisco, California. She began her career in the music industry in cabaret scene in San Francisco in the 1980s. She also worked as a background vocalist for local San Francisco Bay Area acts like the Tiggi Clay. Herron-Braggs also appeared in the musical revue of the Jerry Herman Showtune. As a model, Herron-Braggs appeared as a Jet Magazine’s JET beauty in the January 1980 issue. She was named Miss San Francisco in 1986 and was placed 2nd Runner Up in 1986 Miss California Pageant. Apart from her musical and modelling career, Herron-Braggs also appeared in many popular TV series, like in the Amen and Full House. In 1986, she landed a supporting role in Johnnie Mae Gibson: FBI, and in Wally and the Valentines. She was able to sell over 20 million records with her R&B/pop group En Vogue, and her work earned Herron-Braggs many awards and nominations. Herron-Braggs won two American Music Awards, one Billboard Award, seven MTV Video Music Awards, four Soul Train Music Awards and six Grammy nominations. Herron-Braggs also appeared on the PBS television drama Up and Coming, in films such as Juice, Batman Forever, and Lexie. She also appeared in the stage version of Dreamgirls as Deena Jones. Herron-Braggs signed a deal with Pyramid Records in 2014, together with her fellow members Ellis and Rhona Bennet. They released the film An En Vogue Christmas in November of that year.
