Clemens Wickler was born on April 28, 1995, in Starnberg, Germany. He developed an early interest in volleyball, transitioning to beach volleyball where he quickly established himself as a competitive athlete. His career began to gain international recognition in 2013 when he secured the FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championship title in Porto. This early success marked the beginning of his journey in professional beach volleyball.
Wickler continued his career with various partners. From 2014 to 2016, he teamed with Armin Dollinger. He then partnered with Tim Holler from 2016 to 2018. A significant turning point in his career came with his partnership with Julius Thole, which commenced in 2018. This partnership led to notable achievements, including a silver medal at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg. Following Thole’s retirement in 2021, Wickler formed a new partnership with Nils Ehlers. This collaboration proved highly successful, culminating in a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the 2024 European Championships. Throughout his career, Wickler has consistently demonstrated a high level of performance, contributing to Germany’s standing in international beach volleyball events. His consistent participation in major tournaments and his ability to achieve top finishes highlight his dedication and skill in the sport.
