Coach Gary Patterson

Gary Patterson is a distinguished American college football coach, renowned for his remarkable tenure as the head coach of the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs. Under his leadership, Patterson transformed TCU into a formidable force in college football, amassing an impressive record of 181 wins, making him the winningest coach in the program’s history. His strategic prowess led the Horned Frogs to six conference championships and eleven bowl victories, including the prestigious 2011 Rose Bowl and the 2014 Peach Bowl, solidifying TCU’s reputation on the national stage.

Patterson’s coaching journey began in 1982 at Kansas State University, where he served as an assistant coach. His career progressed as he took on various roles, including defensive coordinator at the University of New Mexico and later at TCU in 1998.
