Philippines Coleen Garcia has transitioned from a successful child model to a respected actress and host in the Philippine entertainment industry, known for her diverse roles in television and film.
Singaporean brand Love, Bonito has collaborated with Filipina celebrities Kryz Uy and Coleen Garcia for its newest collection. The brand also named its first-ever Philippine ambassador, actress and mom Coleen Garcia. Garcia graced the launch event and shared her own experiences. Danielle Claudine Ortega Garcia-Crawford, known professionally as Coleen Garcia, was born on September 24, 1992, in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines. She began her career in the entertainment industry at an early age, first appearing in a Johnson & Johnson commercial at two years old alongside her mother. By age nine, she was an image model for Just G. As a teenager between 2009 and 2011, Garcia featured in various commercial endorsements for brands like Skin White with John Lloyd Cruz, Lewis & Pearl cologne with Enrique Gil, and Nestea.
Garcia signed with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic in 2011, marking a significant step in her career. She debuted in the anthology series Maalaala Mo Kaya and appeared in the teen-oriented show Good Vibes. Her television presence expanded with roles in My Binondo Girl, Wansapanataym, Oka Tokat, and Little Champ. In 2012, Garcia became a co-host for the noontime variety show It’s Showtime, a role she held until 2016, when she decided to focus primarily on her acting career. Her film debut was in “She’s the One” in 2013, followed by a supporting role in the independent film #Y in 2014, which earned her a Best Cast Ensemble citation at the 10th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
Her career progressed with lead roles, including the teleserye Pasión de Amor (2015–2016), an adaptation of a Colombian telenovela. In film, she starred in “Ex with Benefits” (2015), “Love Me Tomorrow” (2016), and “Sin Island” (2018). Her performance as a mentally ill teenager in a 2016 episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya entitled “Kadena” earned her the Best Actress award at the Hiyas ng Sining Awards. More recently, Garcia has appeared in films such as “Mia” (2020), “Adarna Gang” (2022), “Kaluskos” (2022), “Playtime” (2024), “Friendly Fire” (2024), and “Isang gabi” (2024), further showcasing her range as an actress.
