Corinne Stoddard

Corinne Stoddard, born on August 15, 2001, in Seattle, Washington, is an American short track speed skater. She developed her athletic career in Tacoma, WA, before moving to Salt Lake City, UT, for training. Early in her career, in 2019, Stoddard earned a gold medal in the 10K elimination race at the Inline World Junior Championship. Her progression in short track speed skating continued as she became a member of the Short Track National Team, serving from 2018 to 2024. In the 2019-2020 season, she secured a bronze medal with the relay team in Shanghai, marking the United States’ first World Cup medal in that event in eight years.

Stoddard’s junior career included significant achievements at the 2020 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Bormio, where she won a silver medal in the 1000 meters and a bronze medal in the 500 meters. These early successes established her as a rising talent in the sport. Her Olympic debut came at the 2022 Winter Olympics, representing the United States. During the 500 meters event, she sustained a broken nose but was cleared to continue competing.

Her career continued with strong performances at major championships. In 2023, she earned a gold medal in the 2000 meters mixed relay and a bronze medal in the 3000 meters relay at the Four Continents Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Salt Lake City. The same year, she won a bronze medal in the 3000 meters relay at the Winter World University Games in Lake Placid. In 2024, at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Rotterdam, Stoddard secured three medals: a silver in the 3000 meters relay and bronze medals in both the 1500 meters and 2000 meters mixed relay. These achievements, particularly her 2024 World Championship medals, made her one of the first American women to medal at the event since 2012, alongside Kristen Santos-Griswold.
