Dale Murray’s professional journey began as an accountant with PwC in New Zealand, subsequently working with Vodafone NZ after its launch in 1992, and later with Pearson in the UK. In 1999, Dale co-founded Omega Logic, a British mobile telecommunications software company. This venture was instrumental in launching pre-pay mobile ‘top-ups’ in the UK, collaborating with networks such as Orange and Vodafone. Under her leadership, Omega Logic achieved a gross transaction revenue of £450 million within five years. Following the sale of Omega Logic to Eposs Ltd and then First Data Corporation, Dale served as CEO of the enlarged group until 2005.
After exiting Omega Logic, Dale transitioned into angel investing, focusing on digital sector startups. Her early successes in this field led to her being awarded British Angel Investor of the Year in 2011. Her influence and contributions to business were further recognized when she was appointed a non-executive board member at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in January 2013, a role she held until 2016. That same year, she received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) from HM Queen Elizabeth II for her services to business. Dale also served on a Business Taskforce for former British Prime Minister David Cameron, focusing on reducing red tape in Europe.
Dale Murray has held numerous non-executive director roles across a variety of companies, demonstrating her broad expertise and leadership capabilities. Her past appointments include Peter Jones Foundation, Sussex Place Ventures Ltd, Rated People Limited, and LendInvest plc. Currently, she serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Jupiter Fund Management plc, a role she commenced in September 2021, where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee and is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees. She also holds non-executive director positions at Xero Ltd, The Cranemere Group Ltd, and Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Dale continues to advise numerous growing businesses and has an MBA from London Business School. She was named one of the “500 most influential people in Britain” by Debretts in 2015.
