About

Dan O’Connor was born on November 13, 1978, in Australia. He began his career in the public eye as a contestant on the 2004 season of “Australian Idol,” where he placed 11th. Following his appearance on the reality talent program, O’Connor transitioned into acting, taking on a significant role in the Australian mobile soap opera “Random Place” as Bo Edwards. This early role provided him with experience in a nascent digital content format.

His acting career gained substantial momentum with his role as Ned Parker on the long-running Australian soap opera “Neighbours,” appearing in 457 episodes between 2005 and 2008. During this period, his character experienced various storylines, including romantic relationships, mistaken identity regarding his sexuality, and discovering he had a son. After departing “Neighbours,” O’Connor participated in “CelebAir” and made a cameo in Ricki-Lee Coulter’s “Can’t Touch It” music video in 2007. He then ventured into British television, joining the cast of “Hollyoaks” as Ally Gorman in 2012 for 76 episodes. He also appeared in “Death in Paradise” in 2011.

O’Connor’s career continued with roles in other television productions, including “Mr & Mrs Murder” as Brody Bennett in 2013, and “Winners & Losers” as Nate Simpson in the same year. His more recent work includes the film “The Green Door,” released in 2020, where he played the character Greg. Beyond acting, O’Connor has also been noted for his work as a graphic designer and youth worker, and he has ventured into personal training.
