Dan Soder

Daniel Edward Richard Soder was born on June 24, 1983, in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He is of Irish and Swedish descent. Soder began his stand-up comedy career while attending the University of Arizona, where he graduated in 2005 with degrees in journalism and political science. A year after graduating, he moved to New York City to further develop his career in comedy. Early in his career, he made frequent appearances on MTV2’s “Guy Code” and was a guest on various talk shows and podcasts, including Comedy Central’s “The Half Hour” and “Conan.”

Soder’s career progressed significantly with his role as co-host of “The Bonfire” alongside Big Jay Oakerson on Sirius XM from 2015 to 2023. This radio show became a prominent platform for his comedic style. In 2014, he began appearing as a guest star on “Inside Amy Schumer” and also had a minor role in Amy Schumer’s 2015 film “Trainwreck.” In 2016, Soder started a recurring role as Dudley Mafee on the Showtime drama series “Billions,” which further expanded his reach as an actor. That same year, he released his first hour-long stand-up special, “Not Special,” on Comedy Central.

His stand-up visibility increased with a 30-minute set on Netflix’s “The Standups” in July 2017. In 2019, he released another stand-up special, “Son of a Gary,” for HBO and also appeared in the comedy film “Drunk Parents” alongside Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek. Soder continued his acting work with an appearance in the Showtime comedy series “Flatbush Misdemeanors” in 2022. Following his departure from “The Bonfire” in 2023, he launched his own podcast, “Soder,” in November 2023, and in 2024, co-launched “The Regz” with fellow comedians Luis J. Gomez, Joe List, and Robert Kelly.
