Daniel Dae Kim

Daniel Dae Kim is an acclaimed actor, director, and producer recognized for his versatile performances across television, film, and theater, and his advocacy for diversity. After receiving his Master of Fine Arts from New York University in 1996, Daniel Dae Kim cultivated a versatile acting career, beginning on stage with classical productions like ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ ‘Ivanov,’ and ‘A Doll’s House.’ He quickly transitioned to television and film, securing guest-starring roles on popular series including ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and ‘ER,’ alongside recurring arcs on ‘Angel’ and ’24.’ His filmography expanded with supporting roles in major productions such as ‘The Jackal’ (1997), ‘For Love of the Game’ (1999), ‘Hulk’ (2003), ‘Spider-Man 2’ (2004), and the Academy Award-winning ‘Crash’ (2004). Kim’s breakthrough arrived with his acclaimed performance as Jin Soo Kwon on the hit television series ‘Lost’ (2004–2010), earning him a 2006 Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble. Following his success on ‘Lost,’ Kim continued to build a prominent television career, starring as Chin Ho Kelly on ‘Hawaii Five-0’ for seven seasons (2010–2017), where he also made his directorial debut on an episode in 2015.

More recently, Kim starred as Dae Han in the feature film ‘Joy Ride’ (2023) and played Francis in the Broadway production of ‘Peter Pan Goes Wrong’ (2023). In 2024, he received a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in ‘Yellow Face.’ Looking ahead, Kim will star as Fire Lord Ozai in the highly anticipated live-action series ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ (2024) and as David Jung in the upcoming television series ‘Butterfly’ (2025).
