Daniella Pineda

Daniella Pineda’s professional acting career began with an episode of The CW’s ‘Men of a Certain Age’ in 2010, concurrent with her recognized work in online comedy sketch videos for CollegeHumor from 2010 to 2011. She made her feature film debut in Edward Burns’ 2011 comedy-drama ‘Newlyweds.’ Pineda’s early television success continued with a significant role in The CW’s ‘The Vampire Diaries’ in 2013, portraying the witch Sophie. This pivotal role served as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off series, ‘The Originals,’ where she continued as a main cast member for the first season in 2013. Building on her early momentum, Pineda secured a role as Ruby Simms in NBC’s ‘American Odyssey’ in 2015, followed by a main role in the TBS comedy series ‘The Detour’ starting in 2016.

In 2022, Pineda also appeared as Idalia in the anthology series ‘Tales of the Walking Dead.’ Most recently, Pineda was featured in the 2023 action film ‘Plane.’ She continues to demonstrate her versatility with upcoming roles slated for 2025, including the highly anticipated sequel ‘The Accountant 2’ and ‘Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado.’ Beyond her on-screen work, Pineda is recognized for her advocacy for greater recognition of Mexican actors, speaking publicly on the importance of Latin American representation in Hollywood and addressing challenges faced by actors in the industry.
