Danielle Rose Russell was born on October 31, 1999, in New Jersey. Her early exposure to the performing arts began through regional theater and commercial work. This initial experience cultivated her interest in acting for film and television, leading her to pursue professional roles at a young age. At thirteen, she secured her first film role in “A Walk Among the Tombstones.” This early success solidified her ambition to continue acting.

Russell’s career progressed with appearances in significant productions. Following “A Walk Among the Tombstones” in 2014, she featured in “Aloha” (2015), alongside prominent actors. The year 2016 saw her in “Pandemic” and a recurring role in “The Last Tycoon,” appearing in six episodes through 2017. A notable milestone came in 2017 with her supporting role in the acclaimed film “Wonder.” Her transition to television brought her wider recognition in 2018 when she was cast as the teenage Hope Mikaelson in the fifth and final season of The CW’s “The Originals.” This role became central to her career development.

Building on her role in “The Originals,” Russell continued as the lead in its spinoff series, “Legacies,” which premiered on October 25, 2018. Over its four-season run, concluding on June 16, 2022, she portrayed Hope Mikaelson, further establishing her presence in the supernatural drama genre. During this period, in 2018, she also appeared in the film “Measure of a Man.” Her work on “Legacies” earned her a nomination for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress in 2019. Concurrent with her acting career, Russell pursued higher education, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Berkeley College and subsequently enrolling in an MBA program at the same institution in January 2022, emphasizing her commitment to leadership and business management within the entertainment industry.
