Her early interest involved collecting perfume bottles and advertisements, indicating a deep engagement with the industry’s aesthetic and olfactory aspects. This early dedication set the foundation for her professional path in perfumery.

Her career is marked by a distinctive style influenced by extensive global travel and a desire for creative freedom. In 2009, she undertook a year-long sabbatical, exploring various cultures and environments across continents. During this period, she meditated in Nepal, worked on an organic farm in Japan, studied Ayurveda in India, and engaged with art in Italy, including visits to Fabrica and the Venice Biennale. These experiences have shaped her approach to fragrance, allowing her to draw on diverse inspirations and integrate them into her compositions.

As a perfumer, Daphné Bugey has developed creations for both large international brands and niche labels. She is recognized for her ability to adapt her creative process to align with the specific identities and values of different brands. Her work on the ‘La Botanique’ collection for L’Artisan Parfumeur exemplifies her capacity to translate conceptual themes, such as the mysteries of nature at night, into complex and distinctive fragrances.
