Peloton instructors Matty Maggiacomo and Tunde Oyeneyin will co-host the 2025 Athlete Ally Action Awards in October.
Tunde has announced her partnerships, as a proud Nike Athlete. Nike features Tunde Oyeneyin in campaigns that expand the definition of sport and aim to make sports more inclusive to everyone, particularly young girls.
Tunde Oyeneyin, of Nigerian descent, grew up in Katy, Texas, graduating from Taylor High School in 2004. Her early life included challenges with weight and self-confidence, which later motivated her to embrace fitness. Before her career in fitness, Oyeneyin worked as a makeup artist for over a decade in Los Angeles, where she developed her skills in teaching and empowering others. This background in beauty, where she focused on helping individuals feel good about themselves, laid the foundation for her transition into fitness instruction.
Her career took a significant turn when she was recruited to try out for Peloton on Instagram by Cody Rigsby. Despite not passing her first tryout, she persevered and successfully joined the company, becoming a Peloton cycling instructor. In June 2020, Oyeneyin collaborated with fellow instructor Chelsea Jackson Roberts on a 30-minute class titled “Speak Up,” which addressed Black Lives Matter actions. This class, featuring quotes from Black Peloton colleagues and music by Black artists, garnered 110,000 views by late July 2020. She also became recognized for her themed outfits in Peloton’s artist series, notably one inspired by Beyoncé’s 2013 Grammy appearance. In December 2020, she was announced as an instructor for Shonda Rhimes’ “Year of Yes” themed Peloton classes. Oyeneyin also signed with Wasserman Media Group in September 2020.
Beyond her role at Peloton, Oyeneyin is the founder of S.P.E.A.K. (Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity and Knowledge), an Instagram Live series designed to give a platform to those facing adversity. She is also a New York Times Bestselling Author and a Nike Athlete. In 2009, she appeared as a contestant on “Deal or No Deal.” Oyeneyin continues to expand her influence through various projects, including her upcoming Speak Beauty line of lip colors, demonstrating her commitment to empowering individuals both inside and outside the fitness world.
