Darren Mulligan is a Christian singer-songwriter. He is a member of the Monaghan, Ireland-based band We Are Messengers, which was formed in 2015. Darren Mulligan, the lead vocalist and guitarist, Kyle Williams, the vocalist and guitarist, Drew Kerxton, the drummer, and Raul Aguilar, the bassist, are the band’s current members. We Are Messengers, their self-titled debut studio album, was released in 2016 on Word Records and Curb Records. The album reached number ten on the Billboard album rankings and number fifteen on the Billboard Heatseeker charts. In 2016, the band was nominated for Best New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
Honest, the follow-up EP, debuted at No. 7 on the Top Christian Albums chart and No. 44 on the Top Album Sales chart in 2019. “Maybe It’s Ok,” “Point To You,” “This Is Jesus,” and “Magnify” are among the band’s five Billboard Christian Airplay top ten hits. In 2019, the band released two promotional singles: “The Devil Is A Liar” in 2019 and “God You Are” in 2021, both featuring Josh Baldwin. In 2016, 2017, and 2018, their songs were featured on WOW Hits albums.
Mulligan came from a poor family, but they still managed to gift him his first guitar on Christmas when he was only 13 years old. He has since relocated from his little hometown in Ireland to the United States in order to pursue his dream of becoming a superstar.
