Darren Till is a professional mixed martial artist, Muay Thai fighter, and professional boxer with a career marked by significant fights in the UFC and a recent transition to boxing.
Darren Till recalls how the UFC's landmark apparel sponsorship deal with Reebok in 2014 significantly impacted fighters' earnings by restricting external sponsorships and reportedly costing him six-figure deals.
The former UFC fighter talked about how the exclusive UFC outfitting deal with Venum also forced him to turn down lucrative, six-figure sponsorship deals, impacting his financial opportunities.
Till was awarded 'Prime Fighter of the Night' for his performance against Anthony Taylor at MF & DAZN: X Series 20. He also received 'Prime Knockout of the Night' for his victory over Luke Rockhold at Misfits 22 – Ring of Thrones.
Darren Till was born on December 24, 1992, in Liverpool, Merseyside, England. His early life involved frequent altercations, leading him to begin Muay Thai training at age 12. He subsequently left high school at 14 to focus on the sport, turning professional a year later. At 17, he started training in MMA with Team Kaobon. A pivotal moment occurred in August 2012 when he was stabbed, prompting his coach, Colin Heron, to advise a move to Brazil. There, Till joined Astra Fight Team in Balneário Camboriú, despite language barriers and limited grappling knowledge. He remained in Brazil for three and a half years before returning to England.
Till’s professional MMA career began in February 2013, predominantly in Brazil, where he amassed a record of 11 fights and one in Argentina before joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made his UFC debut on May 30, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 67, knocking out Wendell de Oliveira Marques. His tenure in the UFC saw him compete in both welterweight and middleweight divisions, challenging for the UFC Welterweight Championship in September 2018. Notable milestones include securing ‘Fight of the Night’ three times and ‘Performance of the Night’ once. He departed the UFC in February 2023 to pursue other interests.
Following his UFC departure, Till transitioned into professional boxing. He made his exhibition boxing debut on July 6, 2024, and his MF-professional boxing debut on January 18, 2025. On August 30, 2025, he headlined Misfits 22 – Ring of Thrones, where he defeated Luke Rockhold via knockout in the third round to win the inaugural MFB Bridgerweight title. This victory demonstrated his capability to succeed in another combat sport, adding a new chapter to his athletic career.
