Dave Bing is a former NBA basketball player, entrepreneur, and politician who served as the 74th Mayor of Detroit. He offers insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development. After being drafted second overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 1966 NBA draft following a standout collegiate career at Syracuse University where he was a consensus All-American in 1966, Dave Bing established himself as a dominant force. He earned the prestigious NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1967 and led the entire NBA in scoring in 1968.

Bing established the Bing Youth Initiative following his political career, a non-profit organization focused on providing comprehensive support to young African-American men in Detroit through academic, behavioral, and social wellness programs. In 2020, he authored his autobiography, ‘Attacking the Rim,’ sharing his diverse experiences. His athletic legacy was further honored by being named to the prestigious NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021 and his upcoming induction into the Syracuse Orange Ring of Honor in 2024. Bing remains a sought-after voice, offering insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development.
