Dave Chisnall, known as “Chizzy,” is a professional darts player who transitioned from the BDO to the PDC, establishing himself as a formidable contender in the sport. After securing his first significant title by winning the BDO Gold Cup in 2007, Dave Chisnall, known as ‘Chizzy,’ went on to establish himself as a formidable contender in professional darts. Following his BDO debut at the Welsh Open in 2004, Chisnall’s impressive early career continued in 2008 when he claimed both the Isle of Man Open and the England National Championship. His success garnered significant recognition, with 2000 BDO World Champion Ted Hankey advising him to turn professional.

These include the World Grand Prix (2013, 2019), the Grand Slam of Darts (2014) where he achieved his first televised nine-dart finish in 2015, the Masters (2016, 2022), and the Players Championship Finals (2016). His consistent high-level performance led him to the semi-finals of the PDC World Championship in 2021, marking his best showing in the sport’s most prestigious tournament. Chisnall has also proudly represented England in the PDC World Cup of Darts on three occasions, reaching the semi-finals twice. Demonstrating sustained excellence, Chisnall has continued to add significant European Tour titles, including the German Darts Championship in 2013 and the Belgian Darts Open in 2022.

He further bolstered his impressive record in 2023 with victories at the Baltic Sea Darts Open, Dutch Darts Championship, and Hungarian Darts Trophy. This momentum carried into 2024, seeing him secure wins at the European Darts Open and the Flanders Darts Trophy. His remarkable consistency has been repeatedly acknowledged with the PDC Pro Tour Player of the Year award in 2013, 2023, and 2024, cementing his reputation as one of the sport’s most enduring and decorated players.
