David Del Rio

David Del Rio is a versatile actor, director, and producer with a career spanning film, television, and theater, who has transitioned from early television roles to significant projects while also establishing a production company and mentoring aspiring talent. After making his professional acting debut as Felix Garcia on Nickelodeon’s ‘The Troop,’ appearing in 29 episodes from 2009 to 2011, David Del Rio went on to make his Broadway debut as Sonny de la Vega in Lin Manuel Miranda’s critically acclaimed musical ‘In the Heights’ in 2010. This pivotal period demonstrated his immediate versatility across both television and live stage, establishing him as a dynamic talent early in his career. Del Rio’s career continued with significant feature film roles, including Kolio in Universal’s hit musical comedy ‘Pitch Perfect’ (2012) and Roberto Jerez in Blumhouse’s psychological thriller ‘The Belko Experiment’ (2016).

He mentors high school students through the ICouldBe program, which connects aspiring young talent with established mentors for educational and career development. He also directs demo reels for students at his alma mater, contributing to the development of emerging talent. Most recently, in 2024, Del Rio was cast as series regular Billy Martinez in the highly anticipated CBS drama ‘Matlock,’ marking a significant return to network television in a prominent role.
