David DeLuise is an American actor and television director who is best known for his roles on both Disney’s Jesse and Wizards of Waverly Place. DeLuise comes from a star filled family with his dad the legendary actor and comedian Dom DeLuise whilst his mother is actress Carol Arthur and his godparents are Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft.
DeLuise shot to fame as one of the most popular dads on TV, winning the adoration of children and parents all across the globe for his portrayal of family patriarch Jerry Russo on the Emmy award-winning series Wizards of Waverly Place, as well as the subsequent Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, which premiered to over 25 million viewers on the Disney Channel.
DeLuise is also a familiar face to hit shows such as Stargate SG-1 and 3rd Rock from the Sun, as well as NCIS, Shameless, Gilmore Girls, Bones and films such as Vampires Suck, Robin Hood: Men In Tights and Pup Star. The actor has also directed several episodes of shows such as How to Rock, See Dad Run and Lab rats and the Thundermans, having limitless talent. When DeLuise is not acting or directing, he can be found creating his new comedy podcast for kids and adults alike called Grandma for President in conjunction with Audible and Mel Brooks.
