David Posen, a graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School in 1967, began his medical career with research in San Francisco, followed by an internship in Edmonton, Alberta. He then spent a year in general practice in the Canadian Arctic before practicing in Jerusalem for another year. In 1971, he established a family practice in Oakville, Ontario. By 1985, Dr. Posen transitioned from general practice to focus exclusively on stress management, lifestyle counseling, and psychotherapy, a field he has specialized in for over 30 years.
Over his career, Dr. Posen has become a recognized authority on stress mastery, work-life balance, and health and wellness. He is the author of several best-selling books, including “The Little Book of Stress Relief,” “Is Work Killing You? A Doctor’s Prescription for Treating Workplace Stress” (2013), “Always Change a Losing Game,” “Staying Afloat When the Water Gets Rough,” and “Authenticity.” His expertise has led to appearances on television and radio across Canada, and his insights have been featured in numerous U.S. magazines such as “Redbook,” “Cosmopolitan,” and “Men’s Health.” He also contributed a weekly column on stress and lifestyle management for a year on the website canoe.ca.
