David Shad, better known as The Shad, has made his name known in the reality stardom world. Shad, known for his perfectionist personality, stars in season six of the bodacious reality television series, MTV’s Are You The One?, which was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Casting – Television Unscripted Series in the Casting Society of America, USA.

Hailing from California, Shad graduated from the University of Southern California prior to his series start, earning an Engineering degree and a Masters in Real Estate Development. In 2017, He was chosen to be a contestant on Are You The One?, a reality show where 10 romantics compete for love and one million dollars. Shad received 2 getaways on the show. In the same year, he gave a TEDx Talk titled Buildings of the Future: Net Zero Energy, through TEDxCSUSM. He uses the platform to propose an energy solution to the worldwide crisis that he states the world is going through, by replacing the words current arrangement with more sustainable resources. Along with earning his engineering degree, Shad passed the Mechanical Professional Engineering Exam at the age of 24. This has earned him the position of the youngest to ever do such in the country. He has also earned his certification as ASHRAE’s Building Energy Modeling Professional and has become a LEED Accredited Professional. Shad is on the rise to becoming the most energy-efficient, reality-romantic on television.
