Debbie Arnold is a British actress, voice artist and producer; most notably recognised for her role of April Branning in EastEnders (1995-1996). Remarkably, Arnold has played the roles of regular characters in EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Coronation Stree and Doctors. Subsequently, she has appeared in every British soap opera currently screening. Arnold has an impressive list of credits to her name and has appeared in several acclaimed productions, winning numerous awards.
Born in Sunderland to creative parents both in the show business, Arnold began her career in television starring in shows such as The Liver Birds, a BBC comedy. At the juvenile age of eighteen, Arnold was given the role of impersonating Marilyn Monroe on Who Do You Do?. Taking after her impressionist father, Arnold is a talented mimic and voice artist and has starred in many commercials and advertising campaigns, utilising her vocal abilities. Arnold has regularly appeared on the widely-enjoyed ITV gameshow, 3-2-1, making her first appearance in 1978. She has been recognised on many television shows, credits including Shoestring, Minder, The Two Ronnies, The Bill, Miss Marple, Holby City, C.A.T.S Eyes, All Creatures Great and Small, amongst many others. Arnold has featured in film productions, including Oliver Twist, Minder on the Orient Express, and won an award for best actress when starring in the acclaimed film, Photoshoot.
Arnold has performed on screen as well as in the theatre, and has enjoyed success in both ventures. She has won awards for her role in The Sleeping Prince and has appeared in many West End productions including Women Behind Bars, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Hollywood Babylon, Seven Deadly Sins Four Deadly Sinners and Keeping Up Appearances. Arnold has established her own production company, named Debbie Arnold Productions, and has produced several radio and television shows. She also published a self-help book in 2012, titled The Power of Reinvention, which was positively received by many.
