That year, he also achieved a Division I FBS first with two regular season games of 200+ rushing and 200+ passing yards, setting Michigan single-game total offense records with 383 yards against Connecticut and 502 yards against Notre Dame. He was also named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and selected first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America in 2010, following his first collegiate touchdown on his first snap against Western Michigan in 2009. Robinson continued to break records, becoming the first player in FBS history to pass and rush for 200+ yards in a game three times by 2012, and concluded his collegiate tenure as the Big Ten career leader in rushing yards by a quarterback with 3,905 yards. That same year, Robinson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars, 135th overall, where he transitioned to running back and played four seasons until 2016.
There, he served as an offensive quality control coach in 2020 and was promoted to scouting assistant in 2021, gaining valuable experience in both coaching and player evaluation. In 2022, Robinson returned to his alma mater, the University of Michigan, as the assistant director of player personnel, bringing his deep understanding of the game and player development back to the Wolverines program. His contributions were integral to the team’s historic 2023 season, culminating in a CFP National Championship victory. Robinson’s career arc highlights his consistent ability to excel in diverse capacities, leaving a significant impact from record-setting athlete to a respected figure in football operations.
