Devin McCourty transitioned from a decorated NFL career to a role as a broadcast commentator, imparting his deep experience in professional football to a wider audience. After being drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round (27th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft, Devin McCourty immediately made an impact in the league. Following a standout collegiate career at Rutgers University, where he earned All-Big East academic selections and was named to the All-Big East first-team in his senior year while accumulating 38 tackles and two interceptions in 2006, McCourty swiftly earned Pro Bowl and Second-team All-Pro honors in his rookie NFL season as a cornerback in 2010. He graduated from Rutgers with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, laying a strong foundation for his professional journey.

McCourty’s career was marked by extraordinary durability and consistency, missing only five games over his entire 13 seasons and setting the NFL record for most postseason starts by a defensive player. His continued value to the Patriots was underscored when he signed a two-year, $23 million contract extension in 2020. In 2022, he reached another significant milestone, becoming one of only four defensive backs in NFL history to record 200 starts for a single team.
