A renowned veteran of the sport, Earvin N’Gapeth is a French volleyball player who is a regular fixture in the French national team. Throughout his career he has won numerous awards, including gold medals at the FIVB Volleyball World League in 2015 and 2017, and most prominently a gold medal with France at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. He currently plays for the successful Iranian club Paykan Tehran VC. N’Gapeth is also a model and brand ambassador for iconic sports brand Adidas.
Named after basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, N’Gapeth demonstrated prodigious athletic talent from a young age. He debuted in the 2008/09 season for the French club Tours VB with whom he won the Pro A League (the top men’s volleyball league in France). In later years he spent time at the well-known Italian clubs Piemonte Volley and Modena Volley, securing an Italian Cup with both of them, two Italian SuperCups with Modena Volley and an Italian Championship with Modena Volley.
An effortlessly confident presence on the court, N’Gapeth has secured countless individual recognition awards over the course of his meteoric career, such as Most Valuable Player at the 2015 FIVB World League, Most Spectacular Player at the 2016 European Confederation Gala and Most Valuable Player at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
