Edward Gal

Edward Gal is a renowned Dutch dressage rider known for his multiple gold medals at World and European Championships. He has consistently achieved top international placements, demonstrating a deep connection with his horses and a lasting impact on competitive dressage. After making his international debut representing the Netherlands in 2000, Edward Gal, a renowned Dutch dressage rider, quickly established himself as a formidable talent, going on to secure multiple gold medals at World and European Championships. In 1996, he co-founded Dressuurstal Werner/Gal with business partner Nicole Werner, a foundation that propelled his competitive career and built his expertise in training horses and coaching riders.

His early international successes included an FEI World Cup Final Individual Silver Medal with Lingh in 2004, followed by a European Championships Team Silver Medal in 2005 and a World Equestrian Games Team Silver Medal, also with Lingh, in 2006. Gal’s career saw a significant turning point in 2008 with his partnership with the stallion Totilas. This exceptional duo quickly gained recognition, setting multiple world-record scores in Grand Prix Freestyle and Grand Prix Special. In 2009, they achieved Team Gold and Individual Freestyle Gold at the European Championships in Windsor, which they followed with an FEI World Cup Final Individual Gold Medal in 2010.

During his break, he also focused on developing new talents, including the promising Dutch Warmblood, Gladiator, sired by Totilas, who was first publicly shown in January 2023.
