Taylor Gibson, known professionally as EFFY, was born on June 7, 1990, in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. He began his in-ring career in August 2014, trained by Steve Hetrick. From the outset, EFFY developed a distinct professional wrestling persona that served as an exaggerated version of himself, which he describes as being the “most gay version of myself” to resonate with audiences, particularly in regions that were more religiously and politically conservative. This approach quickly set him apart in the independent wrestling scene.

EFFY has established a significant presence in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), becoming a regular performer and a driving force behind innovative events. A key milestone in his career was on October 10, 2020, when he hosted the inaugural “Effy’s Big Gay Brunch.” This event created a dedicated platform for LGBTQ+ performers and allies within professional wrestling, and its success led to a second event, “Effy’s Big Gay Brunch 2,” on April 10, 2021. This initiative highlights his commitment to fostering inclusivity and representation in the sport. His in-ring achievements include becoming the GCW World Champion and a GCW Tag Team Champion alongside Allie Katch, which they won on April 9, 2022.

Throughout his career, EFFY has earned numerous championships across various independent promotions, showcasing his versatility as an all-rounder wrestler capable of performing in different styles. He has held titles such as the FEST Wrestling Championship, Freelance Legacy Championship, and the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship from DDT Pro-Wrestling. His efforts in the wrestling community and consistent performances have led to him being ranked No. 42 in the PWI 500 in 2025 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, reflecting his growing influence and status in professional wrestling.
