Ekow Quartey

Ekow Quartey, born on July 12, 1990, in London, England, UK, began his acting career early, making his debut in film in 2004. He gained initial recognition for his role as ‘Boy 1’ (later identified as Bem) in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004), a role he reprised as ‘Bem; Dumbledore’s Army Member’ in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (2007). Following his foundational experiences in major film productions, Quartey dedicated efforts to developing his craft through LAMDA training.

Throughout his career, Quartey has demonstrated a broad range in acting across various platforms. His television credits include consistent roles such as JJ in “Amandaland” (2025) for 6 episodes, Pedro in “Becoming Elizabeth” (2022) across 8 episodes, and James in “This Way Up” (2019-2021) for 8 episodes. He has also played an array of characters in single-episode appearances in popular series like “Horrible Histories” (2025), “Smothered” (2023), “Breeders” (2023), “Trying” (2022), “Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators” (2022), “Call the Midwife” (2019), “Porters” (2017), and “Zapped” (2017).
