Emmelie Scholtens achieved her first major international success by securing a gold medal at the 2009 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden with Westpoint in the six-year-old division. This early triumph was followed by consecutive gold medals at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses with Astrix, winning the five-year-old division in 2010 and the six-year-old division in 2011. Scholtens further demonstrated her prowess in young horse development, earning a silver medal in 2012 with Borencio in the six-year-old division and a bronze in 2013 with Dorado in the five-year-old division. Beyond her competitive achievements, Scholtens co-established Trainingsstal Witte-Scholtens in Gorinchem, solidifying her foundational commitment to equestrian sport.
Since January 2010, she has accumulated an impressive record of 28 wins from 168 starts in dressage competitions. Building on her early successes, Scholtens consistently competed at the highest levels of international dressage. In 2018, she represented the Netherlands at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, showcasing her skill on a global stage. The following year, 2019, proved significant as she secured a silver medal with the Dutch team at the European Championships in Rotterdam, riding Apache, and also competed in the World Cup finals in Goteborg with the same horse.
