Éric Perrot, born on June 29, 2001, in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, France, developed into a biathlete with a rich family background in the sport, being the son of French biathlete Franck Perrot and Norwegian biathlete Tone Marit Oftedal. His professional career began with an IBU Cup debut in 2020, followed by his World Cup debut in 2021. Early in his career, Perrot’s performance showed potential, leading to his breakthrough on the international stage. He joined the Peisey Vallandry club, where he continued to hone his skills and prepare for top-level competitions.
Perrot’s career progression has included significant achievements in both junior and senior competitions. In 2021, at the Junior World Championships in Obertilliach, he secured a gold medal in the Relay event and a silver medal in the Pursuit. He further solidified his presence in the sport with a bronze medal in the Individual event at the Youth World Championships in Lenzerheide in 2020. His transition to senior events saw him participate in the Biathlon World Championships from 2023. Perrot achieved his first World Cup individual victory in the 2023–24 season, winning the 10 km Sprint in Soldier Hollow on March 9, 2024. He followed this success with another individual victory in the 15 km Mass Start at Kontiolahti on December 8, 2024, during the 2024–25 season, and a further victory in the 15 km Mass Start at Pokljuka on March 15, 2025.

At the 2024 Nové Město World Championships, he earned a bronze medal in the 4 × 7.5 km relay and a gold medal in the Mixed relay. The 2025 Lenzerheide World Championships were particularly successful, where Perrot secured a gold medal in the 20 km individual event, another gold in the Mixed relay, a silver medal in the 4 × 7.5 km relay, and a bronze medal in the 12.5 km pursuit.
