Jane Horrocks

Barbara Jane Horrocks was born on January 18, 1964, in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, England. The youngest of three children, her mother, Barbara Ashworth, was a hospital worker, and her father, John Horrocks, worked as a sales representative. She pursued her acting education at Oldham College and later at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she trained alongside notable actors such as Imogen Stubbs and Ralph Fiennes. Her professional career began with the Royal Shakespeare Company, laying the groundwork for a career spanning diverse performances.

Horrocks gained significant recognition for her role as Bubble and Katy Grin in the British television sitcom “Absolutely Fabulous,” which aired from 1992 to 2012. Her performance as LV in the 1998 film adaptation of “Little Voice,” a role she originated on stage, earned her critical acclaim including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
