Erin Moriarty

New York City-born Erin Moriarty commenced her acting career at a young age, appearing professionally as a teenager. Her first screen credit was in the Emmy-nominated soap opera “One Life to Live” in 2010, where she played Whitney Bennett for six episodes. Following this, she took on a guest role in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in 2011. Moriarty made her feature film debut in 2012 with a small part in the sci-fi comedy “The Watch,” acting alongside Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. In 2013, she secured a supporting role in the coming-of-age drama “The Kings of Summer” as Natalie Walraven and also worked on the TV series “Red Widow.” Her career continued its upward trajectory with a significant role in the first season of the Emmy-winning series “True Detective” as Marty Hart’s daughter in 2014, a role she found enjoyable due to its contrast with her usual persona.

In 2015, Moriarty landed a recurring role in the Netflix crime action series “Jessica Jones,” playing Hope Shlottman. The following year, she appeared in the film festival favorite “Captain Fantastic” alongside Viggo Mortensen and the action thriller “Blood Father” with Mel Gibson and William H. Macy. She earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her work in “Captain Fantastic.” Moriarty took on a starring role as Kelly in the biopic “The Miracle Season” in 2018, which also featured Helen Hunt. Her career reached a new milestone in 2019 when she began co-starring as Annie January / Starlight in Amazon Prime’s “The Boys,” a role she continued in the spin-off series “Gen V” in 2025. In 2023, she lent her voice to the video game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II” as Starlight.
