Ethan Peck is an American actor who has established himself over the course of a 20-year on-screen career that is still unfolding. From early roles in the likes of the Olsen Twins film Passport to Paris through a leading role in the ABC sitcom 10 Things I Hate About You to playing Spock in the Primetime Emmy-winning series Star Trek: Discovery, Peck’s career has gone from strength to strength. His other recent roles beyond Star Trek have included appearances in 2020 sci-fi movie The Midnight Sky and Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
Peck was born in Los Angeles in 1986. The creative arts run in his family: His father was an actor and filmmaker, his mother an abstract artist, and his grandfather Hollywood heavyweight Gregory Peck. The young Peck quickly began to develop his own acting career, making his first screen appearances as a teen in the likes of Passport to Paris, The Drew Carey Show, and That ‘70s Show. His breakthrough came in 2009 when he was cast as Patrick Verona in 10 Things I Hate About You, a sitcom spin-off of the 1999 movie that was cited by the New York Times as one of the year’s best shows. In 2010, he landed a role in Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, appearing alongside the likes of Nicholas Cage and Alfred Molina.
In 2019, Peck began playing Spock in Star Trek: Discovery, the first new series in the world-famous Star Trek franchise for nearly 15 years. The show was a hit and Peck was invited to reprise the role in the follow-up series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
