Eva Green

Eva Gaëlle Green, born on July 6, 1980, in Paris, France, is an acclaimed actress and model. Her father, Walter Green, is a dentist, and her mother, Marlène Jobert, is an actress and children’s book writer. Eva’s multicultural background includes French, Spanish, and Sephardic Jewish heritage from her mother’s side, and Swedish, French, and Breton descent from her father. She attended the American School in France and later studied acting at Saint Paul Drama School in Paris and the Weber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Green began her career in theater, appearing in productions like “La Jalousie en Trois Fax” and “Turcaret,” where her talent was noticed by director Bernardo Bertolucci.

Green made her film debut in Bernardo Bertolucci’s “The Dreamers” (2003), a role that garnered critical attention. This was followed by a role in “Arsène Lupin” (2004). Her international exposure significantly increased with her co-starring role as Sibylla in Ridley Scott’s historical epic “Kingdom of Heaven” (2005). A pivotal moment in her career came in 2006 when she portrayed Vesper Lynd in the James Bond film “Casino Royale,” earning her international recognition and several awards. She continued to diversify her roles, working with acclaimed directors and starring in various film genres.

Over the years, Green has demonstrated versatility in her acting, undertaking roles in large-scale Hollywood productions and independent films. Her work includes collaborations with director Tim Burton on films like “Dark Shadows” (2012), “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” (2016), and “Dumbo” (2019). She also received critical acclaim for her role as Vanessa Ives in the Showtime horror drama series “Penny Dreadful” (2014–2016), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. More recently, she starred in “Proxima” (2019), for which she received a César Award nomination, and portrayed Milady de Winter in “The Three Musketeers” film adaptations (2023).
