Ezra Jochen Sosa was born on November 15, 2000, in Provo, Utah. He began dancing at the age of two, demonstrating an early aptitude for various dance styles including Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballroom, and Ballet. His early training was comprehensive, including instruction from notable figures such as Goran Nordin, Ricardo Cocci, Nadie Eftedle, Mandi Moore, Tray Hollaway, Riquel Cabrera, Shirley Ballas, Mark Ballas, Alan Grandi, Louis Van Amstel, Rick Robinson, Chelsie Hightower, and Hanna and Victor Dasilva. Sosa achieved regional and national recognition in his youth, winning his category at NYCDA Regionals three years in a row and securing the title of three-time BYU national Pre-Teen Latin Champion. He was also ranked 3rd in the Nation for dance, marking his early career with consistent competitive success.
Sosa’s television career began with an audition for ‘America’s Got Talent’ and participation in a music video with Dr. Fuboulus. He secured a principal boy dancer role in the movie “Dear Dumb Diary” (2013) and appeared as a background dancer for “Canine Christmas” and in the web series “Dr. Fubalous.” In 2019, Sosa competed on season 16 of “So You Think You Can Dance,” reaching the Top 6. This exposure led to his involvement with “Dancing with the Stars.” He joined the show in season 30 (2021) as a professional dancer performing in couples’ dances and as a potential substitute. He continued in this capacity in season 32 (2023), notably stepping in for Artem Chigvintsev to partner with Charity Lawson during Latin Night, where they achieved a score of 21.
In season 33 (2024), Sosa was promoted to a full professional dancer, partnering with Anna Delvey. Although they were eliminated in week 2, this marked a significant career progression. For season 34 (2025), he was paired with Olympic artistic gymnast Jordan Chiles.
