Faris Shafi was born on November 2, 1987, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He received his early education at Lahore Grammar School. Shafi is the son of actress Saba Hameed and Syed Pervaiz Shafi, and the brother of musician Meesha Shafi. He is recognized for his contributions to the Pakistani music scene, particularly in hip-hop and rap, and is considered a pioneer of Urdu rap within Pakistan.
