Ferelith Young is a Canadian actress with nearly 20 years of experience. Since making her screen debut in 2005, she has played a great number of roles and also voiced characters in series and video games. She is currently perhaps best known for voicing Eleni Syndulla in the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Ned Wynert in the multi-million-selling 2015 video game Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. She also appeared in several episodes of Canadian drama series 21 Thunder. Alongside The Bad Batch, other recent projects have included voicing a Brotherhood Hopeful in Fallout 76: Steel Dawn and appearances in various short films.
Born in December 1984, Young studied theatre at university in Montreal and then at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York. She appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions and, after her screen debut, played Helen in the 2008 film of Sarah Waters’ novel, Affinity. Further film roles followed before she won the role of Ned Wynert in Assassin’s Creed, providing both the voice and motion capture. Young helped to redefine boundaries as Wynert was the game’s first transgender character.
A recurring role as Sandra in the Canadian drama 21 Thunder helped to raise Young’s profile, especially as the show was aired worldwide on Netflix for five years. She also appeared in Diggstown, a 2019 Canadian series that was the country’s first to have a black female lead character. Her first major TV voice role in Star Wars: The Bad Batch was yet another step forward for this talented and versatile actress’ career.
