Fi Glover is a renowned journalist and presenter, celebrated for her extensive career in British radio and television, and her transition to podcasting and Times Radio. After earning a Silver Sony Award in 1995 for her role presenting the Breakfast Show on GLR with Gideon Coe, Fi Glover established herself as a prominent voice in British radio. Glover began her broadcasting career at the BBC in 1993, quickly advancing from a filing clerk to a junior reporter before co-hosting the GLR Breakfast Show. In 1996, she moved to BBC Radio 5 Live, spending seven years as a lead broadcaster covering news and political events across programs such as ‘Sunday Service,’ ‘Late Night Live,’ and the ‘Afternoon Show.’ Glover transitioned to BBC Radio 4 in 2004, taking over the esteemed Sunday morning news analysis program ‘Broadcasting House,’ which secured her another Silver Sony Award in the same year.
From 2006 to 2011, she launched and hosted BBC Radio 4’s ‘Saturday Live,’ earning a Gold Sony Award for Best UK Speech Programme in 2008, alongside a Silver Sony Award for Listener Participation. By 2010, Radio Times readers voted her the 9th Most Powerful Voice on Radio. Glover further solidified her presence in broadcasting with impactful projects across radio and television. In 2012, she returned to BBC Radio 4 to front ‘The Listening Project,’ a collaboration with the British Library documenting national conversations, which garnered a Bronze Sony Award in 2013.
She was inducted as a Fellow of the Radio Academy in 2014, is a co-founder of Sound Women, advocating for gender parity in broadcasting, and serves as a patron of Adfam, a charity supporting families affected by addiction.
