United Kingdom Storm Huntley is a television presenter known for her work on Channel 5's "Jeremy Vine" and CBeebies' "Down on the Farm."
Storm Huntley serves as a television presenter for Channel 5, hosting segments on 'Jeremy Vine' and, since June 2023, her own current affairs panel show. Channel 5 has also agreed a multi-year deal with ITN for the production of '5 News' and 'Jeremy Vine'.
Storm Huntley is known for her work on the seasonal CBeebies show 'Down on the Farm'. This program was nominated for a BAFTA Scotland Award in 2016.
Storm Huntley was born on February 24, 1987, in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. She pursued her education at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2008 with a degree in politics and economics. During her university years, she engaged with Subcity Radio and hospital radio, which contributed to her early broadcasting experience. She furthered her media education with a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from the London College of Communication. Following a period of unpaid work experience, Huntley commenced her professional career as a researcher with BBC Scotland. She developed an interest in weather reporting, undertaking a meteorology course with the Open University to expand her skills in this area.
In June 2014, Huntley joined STV Glasgow, where she presented weather forecasts and contributed to the evening daily program, “The Riverside Show.” This role marked her entry into mainstream television presenting. Her career progressed to national platforms, and since 2015, she has been involved in several prominent shows. These include the seasonal CBeebies series “Down on the Farm” and Channel 5’s discussion programs, “The Wright Stuff” and its successor, “Jeremy Vine.” On “The Wright Stuff” and “Jeremy Vine,” she served as a co-host, managing viewer interactions by screening callers and reading correspondence. In 2016, “Down on the Farm” received a BAFTA Scotland Award nomination, recognizing the program’s quality.
A significant development in her career at Channel 5 occurred in June 2023, when Storm Huntley began hosting her own segment. Following Jeremy Vine’s departure for his BBC Radio 2 show, she continued the daily discussions and viewer engagement from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This progression demonstrates her increased responsibility and prominence within the channel’s programming. Beyond her professional life, she married Kerr Okan on September 2, 2021, and they have one child, Otis Abi Okan, born in July 2022. In September 2024, she announced a second pregnancy, with her maternity leave scheduled to begin in March 2025.
