Fred Savage

Fred Savage was born on July 9, 1976, in Chicago, Illinois. His acting career commenced at the age of nine in the production “Morningstar/Eveningstar” (1986). He gained significant early recognition for his role as The Grandson in the 1987 film “The Princess Bride.” At the age of twelve, Savage secured his most notable role as Kevin Arnold in the television series “The Wonder Years” (1988–1993). This role garnered him two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy and two Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, making him the youngest actor to achieve these nominations at the age of thirteen. During his tenure on “The Wonder Years,” he also appeared in films such as “Vice Versa” (1988), “Little Monsters” (1989), and “The Wizard” (1989).

Following the conclusion of “The Wonder Years,” Savage attended Stanford University, graduating in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He successfully transitioned into directing, helming episodes for various television series across different networks. His directorial work includes shows like “Zoey 101,” “Drake & Josh,” and “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” for Nickelodeon, and “That’s So Raven,” “Hannah Montana,” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” for Disney Channel. He also directed prime-time network sitcoms such as “Modern Family” and “2 Broke Girls.” In 2007, he made his feature film directorial debut with “Daddy Day Camp.”

In addition to directing, Savage has served as a producer for several television series, including “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Friends with Benefits,” “Party Down,” and “Phil of the Future.” He returned to acting in 2015 with the Fox series “The Grinder” and later joined the cast of the Netflix series “Friends from College” in 2017. Savage’s career reflects a consistent presence in the entertainment industry, both in front of and behind the camera, highlighting his diverse talents as an actor, director, and producer.
