Freema Agyeman

Freema Agyeman is a British actress celebrated for her diverse roles across television, film, and theatre. After taking on the iconic role of Martha Jones in the BBC science fiction series ‘Doctor Who’ from 2007 to 2010, Freema Agyeman quickly rose to prominence, earning critical acclaim including a Best Newcomer award from Glamour in 2007 and the People’s Choice for Favourite Female TV Star at the Screen Nation Film & TV Awards in 2007. Prior to this breakthrough, Agyeman had a robust television career, notably portraying Lola Wise in the ITV soap opera ‘Crossroads,’ for which she received nominations for Best Newcomer and Sexiest Female at the British Soap Awards in 2003. Her early work also included roles in ‘Casualty,’ ‘Mile High,’ and two distinct characters in ‘The Bill,’ alongside an appearance as Mary Ogden in ‘Silent Witness’ in 2005.

Most recently, in 2023, Agyeman returned to British television in the Sky Max comedy-drama ‘Dreamland’ and further showcased her versatility on stage starring in ‘God of Carnage.’ Demonstrating her ongoing commitment to theatre, she is scheduled to perform in upcoming Shakespearean productions, including ‘Romeo & Juliet’ and ‘Twelfth Night’ in 2024, followed by ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ in 2025.
