Gabriele Frangipani was born on December 31, 2001, in Pisa, Italy, and began his figure skating journey in 2010. His early career saw him developing his skills under coach Viktoria Andreeva, achieving a bronze medal at the 2014 Italian Novice Championships. He made his junior international debut in the 2015-16 season, placing seventh at the 2015 Denkova-Staviski Cup and winning gold at the 2015 Merano Cup at the novice level. He further distinguished himself at the junior level by winning bronze at the 2017 Italian Junior Championships and gold at the 2016 Denkova-Staviski Cup. Frangipani’s consistent performances led him to relocate to the Young Goose Academy in Egna, Italy, to train under Lorenzo Magri, marking a significant step in his career progression.
Frangipani continued to build on his foundation in the 2018-19 season, making his Junior Grand Prix debut and securing gold medals at the 2018 Golden Bear of Zagreb and the 2018 Alpen Trophy. He also earned a silver medal at the senior international level at the 2019 Mentor Toruń Cup and became a two-time Italian Junior Champion in 2019 and 2020. His transition to the senior international stage was marked by a silver medal at the 2020 Nebelhorn Trophy and his first senior bronze medal at the 2021 Italian Championships. He represented Italy at numerous European Championships, achieving his highest placement of fourth in 2024. He also made his World Championship debut in 2024, placing sixteenth.
Throughout his career, Frangipani has demonstrated sustained competitive excellence, including multiple podium finishes at International Skating Union (ISU) Challenger Series events. He notably won gold at the 2022 CS Nepela Memorial and the 2023 CS Nepela Memorial, achieving personal best scores in various segments. In the 2024-25 season, he secured a silver medal at the 2024 CS Nebelhorn Trophy and placed sixth at the 2024 Skate Canada International. He has worked with a dedicated coaching team, including Fabio Mascarello, Giulia Cotugno, and Marilu Guarnieri, and choreographer Benoît Richaud, to refine his programs and maintain a competitive edge in figure skating.
