Gaia Weiss

Gaïa Weiss was born on August 30, 1991, in Paris, France, to a Polish mother and French father. Her early life was spent between Paris and London, which contributed to her multicultural background. From a young age, Weiss showed an interest in performing arts, beginning ballet at age four and drama classes at seven. Her theatrical aspirations were further cultivated by attending West End productions during her childhood in London. This foundation led her to pursue formal training at the Cours Florent in Paris and subsequently at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

Weiss began her film career in 2013, making her feature film debut as Mary Fleming in Thomas Imbach’s period drama “Mary Queen of Scots.” In the same year, she also appeared as Béatrice Morel in the Italian drama “White as Milk, Red as Blood.” A significant turning point in her career came with her recurring role as Þorunn in the second and third seasons of the critically acclaimed History channel series “Vikings” from 2014 to 2015, appearing in 13 episodes. This role brought her international recognition and established her presence in television.

Her career progressed with diverse roles across various genres. In film, she played Hebe in “The Legend of Hercules” (2014), Vivienne Hamilton in the French comedy “Serial Teachers 2” (2015), and Devin in the action film “Overdrive” (2017). She further expanded her repertoire with roles in “Accidental Family” (2017), the short film “Alien: Containment” (2019), and a notable performance as Lisa in the award-winning French horror film “Meander” (2020), for which she received several accolades. On television, she portrayed Ippolita Sforza in “Medici: Masters of Florence” (2018–2019) and Marianne in the Netflix alternative history series “La Révolution” (2020). Her voice acting work includes Fulke in the video game “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” (2020), and more recently, she appeared as Madame du Barry in the 2022 BBC and Canal+ series “Marie Antoinette” and Princess Rosanne in “The Gentlemen” (2024).
