Gardner Flint Minshew II was born on May 16, 1996, in Flowood, Mississippi. His competitive journey in football began early, playing for Brandon High School and leading his team to significant achievements. Minshew’s collegiate career included stints at Northwest Mississippi Community College, East Carolina University, and Washington State University. At Northwest Mississippi, he secured an NJCAA National Football Championship in 2015. He later gained recognition at Washington State, where he broke Pac-12 Conference season records for passing yards and completions in 2018, earning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and being named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. His college statistics show a career total of 11,551 passing yards and 90 touchdowns over 42 games.

Minshew was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact, stepping in as a starter during his rookie season due to injury and setting a franchise record for rookie passing touchdowns with 21. His tenure with the Jaguars continued into the 2020 season, where he achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first NFL quarterback to throw for three or more touchdowns with a pass completion rate of 95 percent or higher in a game. Following his time in Jacksonville, Minshew moved to the Philadelphia Eagles for two seasons (2021-2022) as a backup quarterback, making spot starts and maintaining a strong completion percentage.

In 2023, Minshew became the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, where he had a career-high 3,305 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and earned Pro Bowl honors. He then signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024, again stepping into a starting role before a season-ending injury. For the 2025 season, he joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a backup quarterback to Patrick Mahomes, aiming to provide veteran support. Throughout his career, Minshew has demonstrated adaptability across different teams and roles, accumulating 11,950 passing yards and 68 touchdowns across 60 NFL games.
