About

Geoff Shreeves was born in October 1964 and attended Verulam School in St Albans, England. His media career started in 1990 in the United States, where he worked as a researcher for Mick Luckhurst, a former National Football League player. Luckhurst was a presenter for TNT’s coverage of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, providing Shreeves with his first significant media experience.

Shreeves joined Sky Sports in 1992, at the inception of the Premier League. He became a key part of Sky’s football coverage, with his reporting debut in 1999 alongside Clare Tomlinson. Over his 31 years with Sky Sports, he served as the Chief Touchline Reporter for Premier League coverage and was a regular presenter for shows such as ‘The Debate,’ ‘Sunday Supplement,’ and ‘The Football Show.’ His work also extended to reporting for Fox Sports before Champions League games and covering numerous FA Cup and League Cup finals, England internationals, and four World Cup tournaments. Beyond television, Shreeves has been the touchline reporter for the EA Sports FIFA game franchise for fifteen years, contributing to a series that has sold over 300 million units globally.

In 2023, Shreeves announced his departure from Sky Sports after more than 30 years. He stated, “There’s an old saying that you always have to know the best time to leave even the greatest party. And that’s what my 32 years at Sky have been – the most fantastic party I could ever imagine attending.” His career also includes producing ‘Football Godfathers’ for Sky History, where he interviewed notable football managers. He is also the author of his first book, ‘Cheers, Geoff!’, and his extensive career highlights his consistent presence and contributions to football broadcasting.
