Glen Durrant, known as “Duzza,” is a celebrated former professional darts player from England, renowned for his remarkable achievements in the sport. A three-time BDO World Darts Champion, Durrant dominated the competition by winning the title consecutively from 2017 to 2019. His impressive accolades also include victories in the World Trophy, two World Masters titles, and three Finder Darts Masters championships, solidifying his status as one of the greats in darts.
In 2019, Durrant made the significant transition to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). His first major title in the PDC came swiftly, as he won the prestigious Premier League in 2020. However, after this peak, his form began to wane, leading to his retirement from professional darts in 2022. His final appearance at the 2022 PDC World Darts Championship ended in disappointment, as he suffered a 3–0 defeat to William O’Connor in the second round.
Following his retirement, Durrant appeared on the quiz show Eggheads alongside fellow darts player Keegan Brown. He reached the fourth round of the UK Open that year but struggled to qualify for any other PDC major events. In early 2023, after failing to qualify for the World Championship, Durrant announced on social media that he was stepping away from professional darts, though he later clarified he wasn’t officially retiring.
For the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship, Durrant took on a new role as a commentator, sharing his insights and expertise during matches broadcast on Sky Sports. His journey through darts continues to inspire fans and aspiring players alike, marking him as a significant figure in the sport’s history.
